Cornwall

Sarah Ann “Nancy “ Curry Funk, aged 93 of Cornwall, PA, born June 23, 1927, died February 12, 2021 with family by her side.

Nancy and her husband, the late Henry N. Funk, celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2009. She was the daughter of Conrad K. Curry and Sarah A. Muth Curry of Hummelstown.

Nancy graduated from Hummelstown High School in 1945 and received a BS in Home Economics from Penn State University in 1949. She taught home economics at Palmyra HS and South Lebanon HS, resigning from teaching to devote herself to family, church, and community.

Her endeavors, beyond supporting and encouraging her children, include Boost preschool, refugee resettlement, Aids hospice, Rotary Youth exchange, Habitat for Humanity, community free meals, children’s Sunday school teacher, and scouts. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist church, active in many capacities. With Henry, she organized mission trips to Puerto Rico for 25 years, visited exchange students and family all over the world, snorkeled in the Galapagos, swam in Costa Rica, kayaked in Alaska, among other adventures. She loved “paddling to Sucker Brook” in Ontario in the early morning.

Nancy lived a full and abundant life. Her passions included gathering family and friends, community service, being a charter member of the Lebanon County Home Economics Association, children’s ministry, cooking, morning jogs, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, traveling. She was generous, especially with her gift for hospitality. Even in this year-of-years, she had fun with her family: a walk in the meadow, a campfire, rocket balloons, kayaking, a lakeside picnic.

Nancy, a loving mother and grandmother, is survived by daughter Betsy, wife of Dale Reppert, sons, Bob, husband of Maureen, Dave, husband of Laurie, and Ken, husband of Julie, all of Lebanon PA, son-in-law Dan Klarsch of Benson AZ. eleven grandchildren, Angela, Tiffany, Jenna, Lauren, Sarah, Tim, Tilley, Hannah, Jonas, Taryn, Evan, step grandchildren Melissa and Lester, 7 great grandchildren, and brother Frank Curry, husband of Doris, of Palmyra PA. Husband, Henry, daughter Susan Klarsch, and step-brother Conrad Curry predeceased her in 2010, 2011 and 1989 respectively.

Nancy has been a godly example, an encourager, a memory maker, an unconditional love giver, a treasure to family and her friends. We are thankful to God for his gift of her to us, and for his eternal promises providing comfort and hope.
