Alfred Murphy

Alfred T. Murphy, 81, of Lebanon, died on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Spang Crest Manor.
He was born on Friday, August 18, 1939 to the late Lemuel Murphy and Genevieve Murphy nee Ogden in Blossburg, PA. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and was a veteran of the Navy in the Vietnam War. He graduated from the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing and worked for the PA Department of Health and various nursing homes, prisons and the Red Cross as a Registered Nurse. Alfred was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member and an American Legion member. He was an avid blood donor.
Surviving are wife Barbara A. Murphy nee Hodge; children Margaret Gipe and spouse Thomas, Genevieve Smock and spouse Bart, Michael Murphy and spouse Rachel, Timothy Murphy and spouse Galen; grandchildren Katharine Shea, Mary Ann Smock, Noah Smock, Aidan Smock, Timothy Smock, Trevor Gipe, Paige Gipe, Grace Murphy, Evelyn Murphy, Beau Murphy, Magnus Murphy; aunt Betty Johnson. He was preceded in death by daughter Mary Ann Murphy; brother Thomas A. Murphy.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
Burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
