Woodrow B. "Woody" Shay, 77, of Lebanon, died on Sunday, April 05, 2015 at his home.
He was born on Thursday, January 27, 1938 to the late Horace Shay (of Harrisburg) and Mary Shay nee Kramer (of Temple) in Temple. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of the Navy in the Korean Conflict. He had worked at the Lebanon Valley Offset in Annville, and was a Colortech at Olmstead AFB, IGMR. Woody was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory; Liberty Fire Company; VFW Post #23; Navy Club of Lebanon Ship #91; Annvile American Legion; R Field and Stream; Cocalico Sportsmen Club; and a member of the USS Forrestal Reunion Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and woodworking.
Surviving are wife Nancy L. Shay nee Wentling, Lebanon; sons Michael A. Shay, Lebanon, Barry S. Shay, Rehobeth Beach, DE, Stephen L. Shay, Denver, James E. Shay, Hershey; grandchildren Michael Shay, Corey Shay, Ian Shay, Katy Shay, Sarah Shay, Dylan Shay, Luke Shay, Annie Shay; great grandchild Elisha Tilley; brother Donald Shay, Temple; several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be on Thursday, April 09, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 09, 2015 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
