Shirley A. Stegman, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA after a brave battle with cancer. She will be remembered most for her strength, the warmth she brought into every room, and the love she so freely shared with those around her. Shirley was born on February 28, 1943 in Lebanon, PA, to Richard Farst and Dorothy Payne. She married Robert Stegman, and was the devoted mother of two children, Richard Reed (husband of Sonya Reed) and Penny Tice (wife of Harold Tice). Shirley's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was blessed with 5 beloved grandchildren—Alyssa, Amanda, Harold Jr., and Lily Tice, and Lorra Kimmel—who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Denise Kimmel (wife of Tom Kimmel), her brother, Jim Payne, and several nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in her heart. She will be missed by her partner, Dixie, who filled many years of her life with happiness and love. Her absence will also be felt by her loyal dog, Baby, who was her constant companion and a source of comfort and joy. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stegman, and her brother, Robert Farst. Shirley leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and devotion to her family. Her sense of humor brightened every gathering; her often unintentional hilarity uniting everyone through laughter. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. To honor Shirley, a celebration of life will take place at a later date. All who knew and loved her are welcome to gather and share in remembering the countless ways her presence enriched our lives. Memorial donations can be made in Shirley's name to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, from which she adopted many furry friends throughout the years.
