Scott Balthaser

Scott Balthaser, 55, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in his residence following a three- year battle with cancer.
He was born in West Reading on June 22, 1960. He was the son of Robert G. and Gerda H. Balthaser of Lebanon. Scott kept his sense of humor and upbeat attitude throughout his long ordeal. He was a member of Hill Lutheran Church, north of Cleona. He worked as a mixer at Brentwood Indistries, Lebanon. He volunteered for a number of years as a fire policeman with Neversink Fire Co. Scott enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by a sister, Debbie, Allison Park, PA; an uncle, Dennis G. Balthaser and wife Debby, Roswell, NM; an aunt, Anneliese Schlecht, Phoenix, NY; and nephews, a niece and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie; paternal grandparents Robert M. and Verna V. Balthaser, Dauberville, PA; maternal grandparents Max O. and Louise Haas, Syracuse, NY.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 24th at 10:00 at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
There will be a visitation prior to the memorial service at 9:00 but no viewing.
Inurnment will be at Zion Cemetery, Perry Township, Berks County.
