Robert E. Dohner

Robert E. Dohner, age 94, passed away on April 15, 2026, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Robert was born on November 12, 1931 in Quentin, PA, to Henry and Elizabeth Dohner. After completing school, Robert enjoyed a long career as a steelworker for the iconic Bethlehem Steel. Robert married Rose M. Dohner, and the couple raised three children together: Ronald Crater, Robert Dohner, and Randall Dohner. Robert was best known for working with his hands, and he seemed to be skilled at just about anything he tried, particularly woodworking. Robert also had a heart for music, dancing to bluegrass well into his golden years. Robert also served in the United States Navy from 1949 to 1953, a veteran of the Korean War. Robert is survived by wife Rose Dohner; children Ronald (Lynda) Crater, Robert Dohner (companion Tina Bowman), and Randall (Wanda) Dohner; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by siblings William Dohner, Nelson Dohner, Marion Schaeffer, and Joyce Rodkey. The services for Mr. Robert Dohner will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Christman's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., with the visitation to start at 10:30 AM. Graveside services will follow at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
