Marilyn A. Hummel (the former Marilyn Reinoehl) age 92, entered into eternal life on June 20, 2015 at Cedar Haven
Healthcare Center, Lebanon.
She was married to the late Richard J. Hummel for 52 years. Born in Lebanon on December 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Garrick and Beulah (Feeman) Reinoehl, Sr.She was a graduate of Lebanon High School in 1940 where she played the violin and accompanied the orchestra to play at the World's Fair in New York. She was employed part-time at Talbot Hall, Jonestown as a houseparent and Phil Haven Hospital, Mt. Gretna. In the 70's she and her husband Richard ran a restaurant at 7th and Lehman Streets. Marilyn was a member of many churches during her life the last being Christ Presbyterian in Lebanon. She was a member of the Mt. Gretna Heights Civic Club, the Lebanon Woman's Club and was an avid bridge player in the Mt. Gretna and Quentin Riding Club. Marilyn loved life; family traveled twice with her husband to Europe.
Surviving are children Thomas D. Hummel and his wife Anne of Orlando, FL; Marilyn R., wife of Richard Zuza, Kansas City, MO; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by daughter-in-law Mary Hummel and son-in-law Thomas Ambler.She was preceded in death by her husband Richard J. Hummel; daughter Cheryl S. Ambler, sons Richard G. Hummel, Garrick R. Hummel, David T. Hummel and one brother Garrick R. Reinoehl, Jr.Visitation will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Memorial services will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the convenience of the family.
