John Shiner

John R. Shiner, 82, of Lebanon, died on Tuesday, January 03, 2017 at his home.
He was born on Thursday, January 11, 1934 to the late Israel Shiner and Amelia Shiner nee Steffy in Lebanon. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and was a veteran of the Army. He worked at Steffys and Badorf Shoe Co. John was a lifetime member of 'R' Field and Stream and Elstonville Sportsman Club. He was an avid trap shooter and fisherman. He enjoyed reading scripture, helping withnthe noon meal and other activities at church.
Surviving are wife Viola C. Shiner nee Shertzer, Lebanon; stepdaughter Kelly spouse of Norberto Malave, Lebanon; stepson Kevin Acker, Indiana; grandchildren David Acker, Emma Pacheco, Seth Acker, Breanna Acker, Mariah Rivera, Connor Rivera; 6 great grandchildren; nephews Tom Shiner, Steve Shiner. He was preceded in death by brother Herman Shiner.
Viewing will be on Monday, January 09, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Monday, January 09, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Kimmerling's Cemetery, Lebanon, following the service.
