John Shields

John J. Shields, 73, of Lebanon, died on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his home.
He was born on Sunday, February 09, 1941 to the late Patrick Shields and Grace Shields nee Gallagher in Philadelphia.  He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and owned and operated Special Pizza City for 25 years.  John graduated from LaSalle University in 1972 and was a veteran of the Marine Corps.  He enjoyed traveling and was a member of Jonestown Fish and Game.
Surviving are wife Anna P. Shields nee Bruno; children John P. Shields, Macungie, Michele Shields, PHD, Malvern, Phyllis spouse of W. Mickey Nye, Shippensburg, Grace spouse of Mark Kitzmiller, Oakton, VA, Peter spouse of Susan Shields, Sterling, VA, Mark spouse of Lori Shields, West Chester; 21 grandchildren; sisters Sister Carmel Regina, Kathleen O'Donnell, Horsham, Mary Grace Otto, Mullica Hill, NJ.  He was preceded in death by brother Jimmy Shields, sister Grace Mayfield.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 2 N. 8th Street, Lebanon.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 12:30 PM at the church.
Inurnment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with full military honors, following the service.
