Gladys A. "Huck" Sherrid, 91, of Lebanon, died on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was born on Sunday, October 24, 1926 to the late William T. Atkins and Edna Atkins nee Phillips in Lebanon. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a high school graduate in 1944 from Lebanon High School and worked as a legal secretary. She was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Beta Sigma Phi. Gladys was an avid bowler and was in the Reading/Pottsville Bowling Hall of Fame, life member of Goodwill Fire Co where she bowled for 53 years and a member of the Friendship Fire Company.
Surviving are sons David C. spouse of Naomi Sherrid, Bruce A. Sherrid; grandchildren Jeremy C. spouse of Nicole Sherrid, Jennifer Shellenberger, Joshua M. Sherrid, Caitlin spouse of Karl Hawkins; great grandchildren MaKayla Sherrid, Madison Sherrid, Ethan Shellenberger, Karly Shellenberger, Kenzie G. Hawkins, Carson P. Hawkins; 15 nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by brother Richard E. Atkins.
Viewing will be on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 757 Willow Street, Lebanon, PA 17046.
