G. William Schreiber

For 75 years, G. William "Bill" Schreiber was a proud resident of Lebanon, PA. Bill peacefully passed at home on September 23, 2026. Born on September 9, 1951, to Dr. Richard and Isabel Schreiber, Bill graduated from Lebanon High School in 1969 and earned his bachelor's degree from Lebanon Valley College in 1973. Bill had fulfilling careers as a steelworker at Lebanon Steel Foundry and a Direct Support Professional for Community Services Group, where he found great purpose in helping others.

During college, Bill was fortunate to meet his beloved wife, Anne (Cardimona), with whom he shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. Bill was a devoted father to Weston and Marcella, a kind and loving father-in-law to Abby (Burch), and a proud “Mops” to his grandchildren, Olive and Emory. Bill had a lifelong love of chess, participating in USCF tournaments and correspondence chess games for much of his life. His love of music kept him playing his saxophone in local bands since he was 15 including The New Endells, Big Band Nostalgia, and the Rehrersberg Community Band. Bill was also an avid photographer, developing his own archival black-and-white photographs in his darkroom, as well as a prolific writer who loved sharing his art.

To anyone who would like to honor Bill's memory, take your camera and find the beauty in your own neighborhood, listen to music by John Coltrane or Frank Zappa you’ve never heard before, take a ride through the countryside with a loved one, say “Go Birds” the next time you pass someone on the street, or make a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association for Inclusion Body Myositis.

Bill is also survived by his sisters Isabel Eckman, Sara Kate Platz, and M. Lucinda Dietz; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by siblings Richard Schreiber, Jr., Martha Morgan, and Susan Fisher. Services will be held privately.
