She was born on Wednesday, April 20, 1949 to the late Clifford M. "Mel" McQuate and Ruth McQuate nee Swartz in Heidelberg Twp., PA. She graduated from Elco in 1966 and enjoyed cross stich and bowling. Betz was a server at Bob Evans in Lancaster.
Surviving are companion Charlie L. Witherspoon, Sr.; daughters Melody A. Strickler, Veronica F. spouse of Michael Godish; son Charlie L. "C.J." Witherspoon, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers Edwin M. McQuate, Paul A. spouse of Margo McQuate; sisters Dorothy M. Wagner, Carole Ann Spang and companion Jim Walters, Janet L. Elliott, Mary R. spouse of David Walter, Lucy F. Keener and companion Chester Hornberger, Nancy J. spouse of Todd G. Ruoss.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., 226 Cumberland Street, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Schaefferstown Cemetery, Schaefferstown, following the service.
