With deep sorrow we wept over the loss of our precious and beloved Ryan Hartranft. Ryan Christopher Hartanft, 40, died November 16, 2019 in York Hospital, York, PA, due to complications from a serious illness. A private service was held in Lebanon PA on November 22, 2019. Ryan was born in Duluth, MN on May 5, 1979. Ryan was the greatest happiness in our life and we loved him with all our hearts. He and his dad were inseparable and spent many days in the woods hunting and fishing. Ryan was married in Duluth, MN, moved to Maine and then on to Lititz, PA. In 2011, a beautiful baby girl named Ava Elise Hartranft was born. Ryan and Ava had the same personalities and were like two peas in a pod who totally adored each other. Ryan was skilled in many areas. He was an experienced mountain biker, a talented writer and definitely a dedicated worker. Ryan received an award from Canosia Township for saving swimmers from drowning. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree with Honors from Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, PA and also attained several employee awards. Ryan had been a Deputy Sheriff in PA. Later he was invited to join a newly implemented program designed to keep juveniles with convictions out of prison. Ryan taught classes and mentored many of the students. He had a generous heart and was compassionate about changing lives.
